i am in total LOVE with any accessory inspired by a cute furry animal especially a bunny rabbit. A revival of headbands that are cute and charming - think bunny ears, Mickey Mouse ears, cat ears, or other themes that are quirky and cool, and even a little eccentric.
Marc Jacobs did an amazing collection of bunny ear headbands for Louis Vuttion and Maison Michel did the lace bunny and cat ear headbands in his fall 2009 collection.
According to Marc Jacobs, the idea came about almost by accident, when he saw a member of his design team wearing fabric tied around her head in a bow that resembled ears. In the interview, Jacobs said “I like the kind of Playboy, French coquette aspect to it.”
you might think that the runway bunny ears are a bit too big and too out there. but the retail version has been toned down, which made it more wearable but still has the 80's spirit.
the bunny hairband is made from 100% silk with fringes finishing in silk taffetas. It also has a golden metallic rivet with Louis Vuitton engraving. its exclusively available to Louis Vuitton stores for US$400. worth it? i think so.
